The citizens of America are advised not to travel to Nigeria during domestic vacation season, i.e. in middle of November and January, because at that time there is a sudden spurt in cases of violence. For tourists, traveling by road is not recommended because burglaries by local gangs have become a regular feature on country side roads and even some major cities. Night travel is not recommended at all.
